SUBTAXA PRESENT IN BC
Lupinus latifolius var. latifolius

Introduction

Lupinus latifolius is reported for BC in the Flora of the Pacific Northwest, 1973. However, it was not reported in the Illustrated Flora of British Columbia. It was definitively reported for BC and Canada by Bjork 2008 who collected a voucher specimen for the species. In 2008, Bjork states: "I found Lupinus latifolius var. latifolius growing in stands of Calamagrostis rubescens in open conifer forest on slopes. This species is widely distributed through the Copper Mountain site, but a voucher specimen and GPS waypoint were taken at 49.2995º N 120.5887º W." Prior to this time, Lomer (pers. comm. 2005) suspected that a specimen labeled as L. rivularis was in fact this species.
